About Mariel Deutsch
After obtaining my undergraduate degree from Cornell University, I attended medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. My medicine internship and neurology residency training occurred at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. I then completed a Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, followed by a Fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry at UCLA and the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
I am an ABPN Board Certified Neurologist and UCNS Board Certified Behavioral Neurologist. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. I specialize in the evaluation and management of cognitive disorders and dementia, including common types of dementia like Alzheimer’s disease, as well as atypical types of dementia and early-onset dementias. In addition to my expertise in diagnosing patients with complex symptoms and in performing neurobehavioral evaluations, what also makes me unique from my peers is that I provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to patient evaluations and patient and caregiver counseling. My patient visits last at least 90 minutes, but often go much longer, since I always give patients and families all the time they need.
