GERONTOLOGY PROFESSIONALS OF NEW YORK (GPNY) is a business oriented and networking organization comprised of professionals who service the needs of the senior community. The focus of GPNY is to provide networking opportunities for its members and to educate them on practical business issues that will help them to better run and grow their businesses. Prior speakers have addressed the members on the following topics: marketing, financing, business organization, public speaking and time‑management.
We are a growing organization. Among our members you will find accountants, attorneys, social workers, home health care personnel, assisted living personnel, financial advisors, long‑term care insurance consultants, real estate agents and those who can transition seniors from their homes to assisted living or nursing facilities, reverse mortgage specialists, geriatric care managers and college professors.
GPNY benefits its members by offering monthly educational/networking meetings and networking luncheons. Notifications of the events are posted on the GPNY website and sent by E-mail.
Membership is a bargain at only $100 a year ($15 a year for students with a valid student identification). Membership includes the cost of the speakers, which would cost you hundreds of dollars if you had to pay to attend individual seminars on the presented topics. Other networking groups charge more and do not provide you with an education to help you grow your business, and members who concentrate solely on the senior community. Special event functions with no charge to the members are also included as part of membership.
